Spray an oil lubricant such as WD-40 every 3-4 months into the keyhole of your Deadbolt or door knob.

This will help keep your lock operating properly.

There is also a system called Master keying. This system allows more than 1 key to operate the cylinder
This is a great feature for companies that want key control and to limit employees to certain areas. Rekeying 
      is disassembling the lock cylinder and exchanging existing pins.This 
      helps prevent people who have a preexisting key from being able to access 
      with the key.
